Hosted by

The Silver Longevity Business Association.

Silver Longevity Business Association brings together businesses, professionals, innovators, and community partners who support aging adults and their families across Alberta.

SLBA is built on relationships. It is a place where trusted connections grow, referrals flow naturally, ideas are shared openly, and conversations turn into collaborations.

SilverTech Summit is SLBA's signature annual event — a public gathering where that relationship-based community comes together with older adults, researchers, entrepreneurs, service providers, and innovators to shape practical solutions for aging well.

  • A relationship-first community across Alberta
  • Trusted connections, referrals and collaborations
  • Businesses, professionals and community partners
  • Focused on aging adults and their families

Why It Matters

The best solutions come from listening first.

Too often, ideas for aging are designed without enough input from the people who will actually use them. SilverTech Summit changes that by putting older adults in the conversation early — as advisors, testers, storytellers, and decision-makers.

From healthcare and home support to recreation, connection, safety, and everyday life, the best solutions come from listening first.

Program in Development

Building on last year's momentum.

The SilverTech Summit program is currently being developed with community partners, older adults, innovators, service providers, and ecosystem leaders.

This year, we want to include updates from some of last year's participants, presenters, vendors, and innovation partners — sharing what has happened since the first Summit, what moved forward, what they learned, and how community connection helped shape the next step.

Rather than creating a traditional conference agenda first and inviting seniors in later, we are shaping the day around meaningful participation, practical demonstrations, community learning, and real conversation.

Program elements may include

  • Updates from last year's participants and innovation projects
  • Senior-led conversations
  • Innovation and service showcases
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Community partner discussions
  • Research and aging innovation insights
  • Opportunities for older adults to share feedback
  • Networking between seniors, entrepreneurs, service providers, researchers, nonprofits, and funders

Full program details will be announced as speakers, partners, sponsors, and sessions are confirmed.

For Seniors & Community

Your voice belongs in the future of aging.

SilverTech Summit is designed to include older adults as active participants in the conversation about aging well. We want to hear what feels useful, what feels realistic, what feels respectful — and what is missing.

Whether you are an older adult, family caregiver, community member, or someone supporting aging parents or grandparents, your lived experience matters.

At the Summit, seniors and community members may have opportunities to:

  • Attend community-focused sessions
  • Ask questions directly to innovators and service providers
  • Share feedback on ideas, programs, and technologies
  • Take part in senior-led conversations
  • Help shape what aging well looks like in real life

We are working to make the event welcoming, accessible, and meaningful for older adults and caregivers.

A note for older adults & caregivers

You don't have to be "techy" to belong here.

SilverTech Summit is not just for people who love technology. It is for older adults, family caregivers, and community members who want to have a say in what gets built, offered, funded, and improved for aging well.

You may come with curiosity, concerns, lived experience, questions, or ideas. All of that belongs here.

Whether the topic is health, housing, transportation, home support, recreation, safety, connection, caregiving, or everyday life, your perspective helps others understand what actually matters.

What seniors and caregivers can expect:

  • A welcoming community setting
  • Plain-language conversations
  • Opportunities to ask questions
  • Practical demonstrations and ideas
  • A chance to share what feels useful, realistic, or missing
  • Time to connect with people who care about aging well
  • No technology expertise required
